NEWS: Cameron – It’s one of those things

November 14, 2021

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan head coach Malcolm Cameron admits he was disappointed to hear Sunday’s game at Coventry Blaze, but accepts it’s one of those things.

A broken ice plant at the Skydome put paid to any hope of Clan fulfilling their second Premier Sports Elite League fixture against Danny Stewart’s side.

But he’s already turning his attention to next Sunday’s game against Nottingham Panthers at the Motorpoint Arena.

“I knew late last night it was likely to be off after receiving a call from Coventry’s coach and he told me about the situation,” Cameron said.

“Obviously I’m disappointed and after a good week of practice, we wanted to get back on the ice and get at it.

“Now we’re another game behind and it’ll be two weeks between games. We took a step forward and now it’s a step back.

“It’s unfortunate, but this is life. It’s something that’s outwith our control, but we’ll have to make sure we have a good week of practice and be good to go next week.

“The guys want to play games and don’t want to practice. They’re anxious to get going, but they also understand they’re a bit behind conditioning wise so practice is a necessity.

“Keeping it interesting and making sure we’re competitive in practice, plus having fun is going to me my task for the week ahead.”
