Glasgow Clan return to Elite League action at the Braehead Arena this weekend with a huge double header. First up, reigning champions and current league leaders, the Cardiff Devils.

Our Match Night Live Reporter, David Marshall (@marshalldave38), looks at some of the danger men for the Devils.

#1 Charles Linglet – LW

The top point scorer at the Cardiff Devils and in the entire Elite league. Linglet leads the way with 47 points (14 goals and 33 assists). Linglet has helped his team, in no small manner, pile up the goals since his arrival in the summer.

The 36-year-old Canadian born, Belarusian national has a wealth of experience under his belt. He spent time in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers which in turn lead to six years playing across the AHL and ECHL. Linglet has spent most of this decade in the KHL but also spent time in Germany and Finland.

The teams last met in the league on Halloween with the Devils coming away 1-0 victors. Linglet was credited with an assist on the only goal of the game.

#2 Gleason Fournier – D

Right behind Linglet in the scoring charts is a man who has been as dangerous in front of the opponent’s net as he has been solid protecting his own. A defensemen by trade, Fournier has racked up a points tally that is the envy of many of the league’s top forwards.

With 45 points (15 goals and 30 assists), Gleason has already surpassed his total for the entire 2017/18 season.

Playing his fourth season in Cardiff, the 26-year-old from Quebec was a third round pick for the Detroit Red Wings in 2009. Combing his talents up the other end of the ice, Fournier commands an impressive +/- stat of 35.

#3 Ben Bowns – G

A man that many consider to be the best netminder in the Elite League, Ben Bowns is playing his fifth season with the Devils and has been instrumental in his team’s success over his tenure in Cardiff.

In 2017/18, as well as helping the Devils to both league and playoff success, Bowns was named the best netminder in the league and the best British player.

He has demonstrated the full extent of his powers against the Clan this season, recording a shutout in the Halloween night win for the Devils. Going into Saturday night’s game he has a GAA of 2.36 and a SV% of .919.
