Hi Purple Army,
I am writing this blog following Friday’s very disappointing home loss to the Manchester Storm, a very frustrating night for the club in what was the biggest game of the season up to this point.
Everyone will understandably be very disappointed and frustrated at the moment, none more so than myself, head coach, players and staff of the Clan – we all live and breath this club 24/7!
Following our very positive start to the season, to see us drop from first place in the EIHL to our current position has be extremely exasperating.
We now have 9 regular season games remaining, we urgently need to find some form and a way to win games, as right now we are well and truly in a battle for the playoffs.
Looking back to September / October, this certainly isn’t the position we expected to be in, however it’s not the time to lick our wounds – we all need to find a way to get back on track and finish the season strongly.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the whole Purple Army for your support. Despite our frustrating form since November, our attendances have been fantastic at home this season with a 20%+ increase on last season’s numbers. Thank you for sticking with us and showing your support!
The atmosphere at Braehead Arena continues to be THE BEST in the UK, even in the remaining minutes of the Manchester game, the Purple Army were still right behind the team – we, the club, appreciate that, and are doing everything within our power to bring you the success this club craves.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with our OSC Chairman, Roddie Brown, who has been in hospital recently. Roddie has been an integral part in the OSC becoming what I believe is the best in the whole EIHL, they are absolutely integral to the progression we’ve seen at this club – the support, events, travel is second to none.
Roddie is someone I highly respect, he’s always very honest with me, about the club, about the team. We wish Roddie a speedy recovery and we’re looking forward to seeing him back at Braehead.
Furthermore, I’d also like to wish Paul Carr all the best in his emigration to Boston in the USA. Paul has been a member of our Clan off ice crew for a number of years now and is moving stateside to start a new life, get married, start a family and an exciting new opportunity.
Thank you for all your hard work Paul, good luck in the US, he’s someone that will always be welcome back at the Clan.
Thank you for your continued support!
